Time flies when you’re having fun, right? It seems like just yesterday we were introducing you to the newest members of our Katapult family. And today, we celebrated them in style!

Katapult Accelerator Staff & Portfolio Companies

A few months ago, we invested in eleven ambitious startups tackling social and environmental issues spanning health, diversity and inclusion, financial inclusion and education. To celebrate their participation in our 4th program, we hosted an energetic Demo Day on the rooftop of Steen and Strøm, overlooking the heart of downtown Oslo. When the doors opened at 8:00 A.M., the crowd was electric. The room was buzzing with a curated audience made up of predominantly investors followed by mentors, and partners. Needless to say, it was truly an enjoyable morning and a fantastic chance for the founders and their teams to showcase their exciting and impact-driven ventures to the wider ecosystem.

With a slight twist to our usual Demo Day, we mingled before the show during the early morning hours over an “impactful breakfast.” What also makes this Demo Day unique is that we moved it forward by three weeks as a strategic move to give our companies even more exposure through Katapult Future Fest. Although the teams presenting have had less time to prepare for taking the stage than our previous cohorts, the feedback we have received thus far has been incredibly positive. We can say with confidence that they all rose to the occasion, and we are ever so impressed with their progress in such a short span of time. Added to that, we know that the relationships and connections they have built along the way will continue to last well beyond our program, and their remaining three weeks will be focused on follow-up meetings with investors and partners.

We were also delighted to also have a number of our portfolio companies in attendance. At Katapult, we’re proud to provide long-lasting support to all of our alumni teams and assist in their growth.

Our host, Matt Smith, turned up in somewhat traditional Norwegian wear and limited his bad jokes. Then, each company took the stage to present their scalable solutions to an eager room, whose applause was never in short supply. Together with these impact-driven companies, our objective is clear: bolster new, sustainable technology to provide solutions to societal & environmental challenges while strengthening business opportunities, with impact investing as our foundation.

With that, we wrapped our 4th Demo Day and are really thankful to all the wonderful people who have made this batch such a success — our investors, partners, mentors, and friends, we appreciate you giving your time and expertise generously to help shape the future of our portfolio companies. Strength in numbers as it’s said, and without you, this would not have been possible.

Last but not least, none of this would be possible if it weren’t for the incredible companies whose hard work and dedication were evident throughout and who have committed to scaling and taking their companies to the next level. We truly believe that they have what it takes — energy, determination, and an entrepreneurial spirit. We are most certainly looking forward to supporting them after the program and beyond when they join our alumni family.
