People think differently when it comes to understanding music, for some its an easy job but if you ask someone whose day in and day out striving really hard to get that one perfect pitch, you will know that music is truly something, one achieves after ages of practice and most of the time there is actually nothing achieved but only improvements and new challenges thrown back by art. We spoke to one such talent and one of the true disciple of music, Sudeep Jaipurwale, classical and playback singer, who also believes in the same mantra when we ask him about his experience of being a musician.

Sudeep is the great grandson of legendary Classical singer Guni Gandharva Pandit Laxman Prasad Jaipurwale and the grandson of vocalist Pt. Govind Prasad Jaipurwale. Sudeep was introduced to music by his father Pt Bhavdeep Jaipurwale and he learnt the Jaipur — Kunwar Shyam Goswami Gharana tradition. Sudeep is not only a soulful singer but comes with a lot of knowledge about music and he tries to inculcate the same while talking to anyone about his profession.

When asked if he was given an option to choose another profession other than music, Sudeep laughs and shares a special story with us. He stated how as a child, when he was a few months old and could only cry, Sudeep would sync his crying tone to the same musical note played by anyone in his house. He also shares how, back in those days, Sudeep a few months old, and someone over the call heard him cry and immediately said that this child is a born musician as he naturally sings in the right musical notes. We must say how each of those people who heard him as a child were absolutely bang on about his profession as today we see him as someone who was made to be a musician.

Sudeep has been listening to music since birth and it was very natural for him to connect with not just music but with the right kind of music. According to him, listening plays a bigger role in making you a stronger musician and Sudeep is clearly a great example of this as he has only been surrounded with music throughout which makes him so perfect with his music sound. While our chat with Sudeep, we also got to hear his classical singing and it took us by surprise how he created a sense of liking towards classical pieces in our minds without we knowing anything about them. This is what art is all about, the practice of letting people fall in love with it without they even understanding much. Sudeep’s ultimate belief is in his strong classical music, he firmly stands by the line that classical music is the ultimate base of everything that one may want to sing and once your well trained in this, one can truly achieve any kind of singing and genres that they want to produce from their voice. It is his training from an early age that got him to succeed in recording for a song as a child artist in 1997. He tells us how he remembers, not being fearful nor did he hesitate, as the song he recorded was opposite none other than Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar for the movie Sham Ghansham and making it more easy approached was the music director of the film, Vishal Bharadwaj.

The movie along with his performance for the song was highly appreciated by the industry and he was also nominated as the best Upcoming Playback Singer by the jury of Radio Mirchi Music Awards 2018.

Like Sudeep says and firmly practices, one should know everything about the field they are into, not just singing but Sudeep even works into designing of songs and is updated with all other skills involved in the process of music. He is not only interested in giving his voice but loves working for the entire artistic journey while making of a song. One such work is his recent contribution to the classical parts popularly known as tarana and sargam in the superhit song Ghar More Pardesiya from the movie Kalank 2019. He has also collaborated with music director Mithoon for a song in MTV Unplugged season 4.
