Kava Partners with Tendermint to Bring Interledger to Cosmos
Kava is excited to announce its partnership with Tendermint, the creators of the Cosmos Hub and consensus engine that drives the Cosmos ecosystem.
The Tendermint team is building the foundation for a new token economy. Their vision is for these high-quality assets to move seamlessly throughout a network of interconnected blockchains.
The Interledger Protocol enables seamless payment and value transfer between any blockchain. Kava is the first Interledger solutions provider to deliver interoperability and liquidity to blockchains, wallets, and exchanges.
With the application of Kava’s Interledger solutions to the Cosmos ecosystem, more users will be able to flow into the Cosmos ecosystem and the greater blockchain community will be able to access Cosmos applications further increasing its interoperability and utility.
While Kava has already integrated Interledger with major blockchains like BTC and ETH, Kava has been particularly interested in bringing Interledger to the Cosmos ecosystem. The design of the Cosmos ecosystem has many different blockchains with their own money needing to seamlessly interact, making it a perfect fit for Kava’s Interledger solutions.

The first initiative of the partnership will be to integrate Interledger with the Cosmos hub by creating a plugin for Atoms (ATM). Once integrated, ATM will be accessible by the greater blockchain community including BTC, ETH, and XRP, and all other assets integrated with Interledger. When the Cosmos Hub launches, Kava will make the ATM market on Interledger providing liquidity to users wanting to make cross-chain transactions involving ATM.
As more Cosmos zones come online, Kava will play a similar role integrating them into Interledger and providing liquidity to users, enabling seamless interaction with blockchains inside and outside the Cosmos ecosystem using Interledger.
