Food in Social Media

One of the simultaneously most eye-roll-earning and envy-inducing style of social media posting is that of food blogging. When done wrong, it comes off as an endless feed of obvious attempts at influence with forced shots of wilting salad and lukewarm coffee drinks. But when done well, it comes off as an effortless success, snap shots of picturesque grilled cheeses and iced teas lighting up your followers’ screens.
These four simple recipes are as tasty as they are like-earning on whichever social media platform of your choosing. In addition to being flavorful, each slice of toast offers a pop of color that is eye catching and aesthetically appealing.

The first treat, the Twisted Elvis, is a simple re-hash of a beloved classic. Simply, this snack, is made from bananas, honey, and nut butter atop whatever toasted vessel you choose.

The next, The Greek Goddess, is just as easy, but not nearly as common. Making use of fresh hydroponically-grown greens, farmers market sliced-tomatoes and any flavor of goat cheese (we used fig and herb flavored cheese), this particular toasted-treat is budget-friendly.

This third creation is another re-iteration of the stereotypically famous hipster delight. Making use of the cliche avocado toast, this extra touch of flavor gives life not only to the social media feeds, but also bland wheat toast. For this particular recipe, crisper toast is recommended to support the weight of thick avocado slices, particularly if you prefer to smear the fruit into the bread.

Last, but certainly not least, is this punny and lightly sweet goody. For this final delicacy, spread part skim-milk ricotta cheese onto the slice of bread. Since ricotta is thicker, it spreads nicer onto bread that is on the soft side. Top the cheese with a vertical slice of pair and a drizzle of honey. Since the color of this particular toast is more neutral, a pop of purple or another contrasting hue will add a little character to the post.
