Standing out in an online marketplace can be challenging. How you choose to convey yourself, along with your relevant experience and expertise is up to you, but there are a few things to keep in mind. How do customers know what you can do and how well you can do it? What do they think about before they chose a service provider? We’re here to help you be the best candidate on the list.

One: Put a face to your name!

One of easiest ways to validate your profile in the eyes of customers is to upload a profile picture. Customers want to know that they are dealing with a real person who takes him or herself seriously.

Extra tips on choosing a picture:

  • Include your face in the picture
  • Choose a picture with good lighting
  • Keep photo resolution in mind
  • Look professional!

Two: Make sure customers know your capabilities

Conveying what kind of project and jobs you can do is important. Providers can set skills by going to the “More” tab, selecting “Provider Skills”, and checking the boxes that apply.

Providers can also highlight relevant experience, personal mantras, or other relevant info in the “Bio” section of their profiles.

Three: Effective Communication

Communication is important throughout the entire process. We like to think about four keys to effective communication

  • Clarity
  • Attitude and tone
  • Honesty
  • Prompt responses

Honest, clear, prompt, and positive communications go a long way. These suggestions are equally relevant to customers and providers, and we believe these are a few of the keys to building a positive, effective, and professional relationship.

Four: Get Verified

Profile Verification may eliminate fears that users you aren’t who you say you are. Take your profile to the next level!
