Idol.

Contemplating and mindful thinking are two very strange trains of thought, if let to wander with “negative annotations”, can deplete the jar of confidence and bring about self doubt, become a hurdle in your quest for success.

Why, in life, it’s important to have souls you can idolize?

Not so long ago that you felt ,“What is the purpose of doing anything in life?, there are always times when our thoughts don’t concur with our actions, when as we start contemplating our actions, there’s that sense of detachment from within, that’s when we must think of people whom we idolize. (And it has nothing to do with deity worship.)

Wherever we are in life, there are always people who have sacrificed a lot and those who have given us the wings that actually kickstarted this journey, so when the chips are down, our heart should be searching for the reason to stay focused and have faith in the process, believing it will all end up together. What we must never forget is that every stage of life is a “first” and a stepping stone, it’s never the last and it’s not always the end of the road.

Look for the “Been there done that” souls

In situations when you are confused, envision what the person you admire the most would do if they were to be in your shoes, how would their character define the problem at hand and what would be the course of action for them, it’s amazing how just shifting the problem about it’s pivot can give you a whole new perspective and probably give your inner forces the much needed alignment to work in “sync”. (All forces acting in one direction can give you that push, the escape velocity to shoot for the stars 🚀)

There is no segregation whatsoever in how we must deal with these situations, be it personal life or professional. That feeling of detachment, in my opinion, can stem from either aspect of your life and grow into another. It’s not very straightforward for us to be aware of the personal life of others we admire or idolize, they may move us professionally and give the impression that everything on the personal front is near perfect or perhaps that would be our assumption (We were never told about Einstein’s “personal” problems). This emphasizes the fact of really knowing people within your niche/ domain who have achieved what you aspire to, who have the right attitude to deal with problems that can disrupt this equilibrium.

Better not Perfect

Searching for such individuals may seem difficult at first, but as we start to understand it cannot be perfect, there would be something to learn from everyone who comes close to how we might actually want it to be. One key trick is to find people who have a framework in place, which is both sustainable and progressive. A framework is alluring as it is repeatable, with a little patchwork you can make it work and plug it into your routines. Even the most assuring souls on earth wouldn’t have everything working perfectly for them, hence, you just need to look for what would make it better for you.

What we must try and be is the best every day, not in five years down the road, not in the next semester or the next game, it’s about NOW . You have to be at your best, on your guard, marking your presence every moment, reminding yourself to be the best version of yourself. And I say it again, think of someone you idolize, what they would do, you’d have your answer how to be.
