The user constantly has primary and secondary needs, it is our job as suppliers of products or services to detect them to improve the experiences of use, interaction and innovation of them.

Some ways to detect needs:

-Give the user the opportunity to feed back.

As mentioned before giving the user the opportunity to generate feedback, this helps you understand the areas in which you can improve your product or service, as well as exploit the areas of greater acceptance and satisfaction.

-SWOT Analysis.

This tool is very common but not that we should underestimate it, a good SWOT analysis of your company, service or product opens a wider perspective and allows you to identify the areas of opportunities, weaknesses, threats and where you can expand with greater certainty .

-Surveys.

With this tool you can question your user to get information about their opinion about your product or service, you can elaborate it from the simplest: a series of questions in print about what you want to know, even the most complex: a series of open or closed questions with or without conditioners in digital format so that a software can interpret the data and deliver statistics.

-Observation.

Observation is one of the simplest tools when compared to the others mentioned above, but this does not mean that it is not a powerful tool, many times, simply observing our workflow in the company, the way the one that we offer the services or the how the user interacts with our products can give us the answer.

-Usability Test

You can use a usability test to detect the areas that need to improve in the user’s interaction with the product or service, this is one of the tools that provides both qualitative and quantitative data making it one of the most complete, but also is one of the most expensive.

-Focus Group

With a focus group you can measure the levels of acceptance of the user with the product or service, in addition to acquiring the information that the user provides to the naked eye through the exercises performed during the test, you can also obtain deeper data as emotions expressed through verbal and non-verbal language and even insights.
