Stay Relevant, Be Creative, and Innovative on Social Media
The social media world is innovative, creative, and forever changing. The trickiest part of social media is getting your account noticed, and gaining an audience who will listen and engage with your ideas. As more and more get their daily dose of information from social media, it is imperative that we learn how we interact with the world with the modern communication channels. By reading this post, you will get to learn how you effectively engage with your target audience, increase your exposure, and promote your ideas.
Think Like A Social Media Economist
One of the most important lessons we’ve learned about social media derived from the basic understanding of how economists analyze human behaviors. People are very likely to respond to incentives that will benefit them in the end. They also enjoy a product in which they can relate to. The same goes for social media. You have to think like an economist and you want every post you create to be unique and something that will strike a chord in someone who is reading what you post. If you are successful in doing that, you will generate a response and a reaction to what you share on your account.
Raise Your Voice
Every great social media account shares something in common. The ability to use their voice or tone to stand out and influence their customers. Coming up with a clear, consistent, and proactive voice can help you establish the brand.
To get started on defining your voice, we recommend beginning with a simple and easy brainstorm.
Ask yourself questions similar to these:
- Who do I want my audience to be and what will I say or do I reach them?
- What will I talk about consistently?
- What types of content will I include in my posts? (Example: Video, polls, Images, GIFS)
These questions are crucial. Not only can they help you define who you are as a brand, but also will help you ferment your plan and put your voice into play.
Doing it the Right Way
We also suggest taking a look at accounts on social media that have experienced a great deal of success. One of our favorite accounts to follow is the Cleveland Indians Twitter account. The Indians have a knack for pushing out content that is both interesting and selling their brand at the same time.
This is one of our favorite tweets by the Indians most recently:
Another one of our baseball favorites is the Red Sox. They have the act of using GIFs down to a science as well. They’re able to be relatable, and funny, and do it in a way that encourages people to react. If you saw this tweet, wouldn’t you be compelled to retweet it?
Who doesn’t love an adorable pug that is dressed up in all sorts of cute costumes? We do. Check out ItsDougThePug. Doug has over 2.2 million followers, and grows more adorable by the day.
Another great example is Delish, one of our favorite Facebook accounts to follow because who doesn’t love food. Delish does it in a way that is both appealing to the eye (and stomach), and easy to follow.
These accounts are just examples of some great social media accounts we think do a great job of relating to their followers, pushing out information, and causing engagement to push their products in a way that causes positive reactions. You can learn so much from successful accounts and get ideas for creative posts.
Allow For Your Creativity Wings To Fly
A Tweet or Facebook post with great wording can only get you so far. People are lazy, and they do not enjoy continuously scrolling through text and long wordy posts. You’ll want to add variety to what you share, such as images, videos, animations, infographics and so on. This is the part where you need to add something to those great ideas to help your account spring to life.
Our Kdan Creative App Series may be able to aid you in your search to becoming more creative, and you can download the trial versions for free. We have a variety of applications ranging from Animation Desk to Write-on Video and more that can help in your hunt for creativity.
Test It Out
The best way to analyze your progress on your social media account is to test out your ideas to see what works best for you. Remember that this is an ongoing process. The experimentation process is one of our favorites, you can have fun and test out a variety of things that may or may not work for you. Don’t be afraid to try something new.
Most Importantly, Have Fun!
Lastly, remember to have fun! You want the brand or account that you create to resemble what you stand for and who you are. So go out there and get started, but have fun along the way.
