GATHER INSPIRATIONS

As a start, think about what ‘take it easy’ means to you. Research and look for different inspirations in your daily life. Whether you are taking a walk in the woods or walking to work, collect ideas from your surroundings and they can act as the base of your storyline. Don’t forget to use mind mapping and brainstorming tools like NoteLedge to help you!

GIVE YOUR ANIMATION AN INTERESTING STORY

Who doesn’t like a good story? An interesting storyline can definitely win you a lot of points. Maybe it is about something you have experienced personally, or you have a thought-provoking message that you want to convey. By adding some personal touches and emotions into your story, it becomes a lot more powerful and impactful! Be super creative and use your animation as a form of expression!

CREATE A STORY FLOW CHART

Try making a simply story flow chart to help you outline the key aspects. Based on these aspects, you can then create your series of key frames, which are the first and last poses of a particular action sequence. After having these key frames as benchmark, you can fill in the rest!

BE BOLD WITH YOUR DRAWING & CREATE STRONG LINE OF ACTION

Exaggeration is what makes animation fun, energetic and dramatic. In animations, you don’t have to stick with being natural and real, so allow your featured characters to be bold! For example, you can play with the Timing and Spacing between frames to create more exaggerated effects.

ADD A SHORT DESCRIPTION

As you are submitting your work on AniZone, consider adding a few sentences describing the storyline of your animation. This would help the judges and audience further understand your story!

Share with us how you Take It Easy and don’t miss this chance to showcase your animation skills. The contest’s theme is open to your interpretation, so go wild with your creativity! Submission deadline is on July 6, 2018. Let’s get animating now!
