The initial burst of passion after the Eric Garner Grand Jury decision quickly morphed into a high-energy condemnation of every element of the oppressive, capitalist system. Actions were organized almost everyday to shut down both usual and special functions of daily life. When England’s Prince and Princess came to the Barclays Center, protesters organized the #RoyalShutdown. It started at Barclays with the stated purpose, but quickly took over the streets, then shopping malls, and even marched across the bridges into Manhattan and continued well past 1 a.m.
