This article follows on from our recent post, ‘The importance of digital accessibility’. In this article, we have outlined some essentials to consider when creating digital content.

Accessibility is an important consideration for anyone creating content. To make your content accessible to as many people as possible, there are a few key things to keep in mind.

First, consider the presentation of your content. Make sure that it is easy to read and navigate, and use headings, subheadings, and bullet points to organize information and break up text.

Second, consider the use of images and other visual media. Make sure that any images you use have alternative text, so that people using screen readers can understand them.

Third, consider the use of audio and video content. If you are using audio or video, provide transcripts or captions so that people who are deaf or hard of hearing can access the information.

Finally, be aware of the language you are using and try to avoid using jargon or language that may be difficult for some people to understand. By following these guidelines, you can help ensure that your content is accessible to as many people as possible.
