After 10 years of working as a web officer, I can confidently say that I have enjoyed every moment of it, from my interview at Keele Hall, to the post-covid era today, from Google to Microsoft, and of course, the t4 Content Management System.

I have been lucky enough to spend my time working on many exciting and rewarding projects, from staff training and microsite creations, to a complete redesign of the website, and experiencing our team winning a HEIST award for the best website that was one of the brightest moments of my life — right next to the birth of my son many years before that — and I am grateful to Keele and our team for that experience!

HEIST Award winners. A very strong team that has developed a responsive and well research website. A textbook approach to redeveloping a website, and delivered with passion.

Over these 10 years, I have had an opportunity to work with many amazing people who have formed an important part of my life, becoming inspirations to follow and friends for life. I have worked with talented developers, designers, and project managers, and I have learned so much from them. Together, we have tackled some tough challenges and came up with impressive solutions.

I have also enjoyed working with a variety of different technologies, from HTML and CSS, to JavaScript and VueJS, and I have always found the field of web development and digital communications to be fascinating and incredibly fulfilling.

In addition to the technical aspects of my job, I have also had the opportunity to use my communication and project management skills to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards. This has been a challenging but rewarding part of my job, and I am very grateful to my team for making it fun as well as being super productive and easy to work with!

Another thing that I really enjoy about my job is the creativity that it allows me to express. As a web officer, I am often tasked with creating pages that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. This means that I get to use my creativity and design skills to come up with solutions, and that is my favourite part of the job.

Overall, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities that Keele provides in my job as a web officer. These 10 years flew past very quick, full of great memories and achievements. I am looking forward to what the next 10 years (or more) will bring, and I am excited to continue working here and in this field.
