The Results Are In — Dictator League Draft Grades
In these times of crisis, football has often offered us a brief respite from the madness. The quarterback carousel that landed TB in Tampa Bay, Bridgewater in Carolina, Foles in Chicago, Dalton in Dallas, Jameis in New Orleans, and Rivers in Indianapolis entertained us as the worst of the virus swept over the country. Then as the lockdowns stretched on into April, the first-ever virtual draft was there as a distraction. Now, as the country is experiencing record numbers of cases, we turn again to football, this time in the form of a fantasy football draft.
After learning of a league wherein he could implement all of the rules he has long desired, Mark dominated in 2019 and has taken the helm for 2020. The rules are simple: superflex, PPR, TE premium, two flex, 3 WR, no mercy.
Since we are still months removed from any tangible results of this draft, I am publishing the results of the draft grade survey. Here is how we ranked each team.
The Rankings
10. Team JohnMcG223
Average — 6.25
Likely the consequence of low expectations for Lev Bell, and a possible holdout for Alvin Kamara. If the TE premium is all it's cracked up to be, the double-headed monster of Zach Ertz and Mark Andrews could be a force not to be reckoned with.
9. Team Steveash14
Average — 6.375
This team is made up of some of last year’s biggest disappointments (Montgomery, Juju, Robinson, etc.) so maybe the low scores were just out of spite.
8. Team Mcampbell23
Average — 6.625
When you have Lamar Jackson, you aren’t really bothered by the opinions of the sheep.
7. Team Traderjoey
Average — 6.875
People like balance, and by that, I mean good RBs and WRs. TE premium is an adjustment and probably not one that we have all made quite yet.
6. Team LLGhoulJ
Average — 7.0
Not sure what the rest of you all were thinking, but this was my highest graded team. Even if they are a bit light on WR and QB, the strongest RB core in the league can get you far.
5. Team Dormansmash
Average — 7.125
When you start off the draft with the receptions leader and the rushing title holder from the previous year at the very back of the draft, you are doing alright.
4. Team Swandog
Average — 7.25
You all are too kind. When I was five or six years old, I used to have a recurring dream that I was driving a car and I would panic because I didn’t know what I was doing but I also couldn’t stop. Anyways, this draft felt kind of like that. Glad I got the car parked safely.
3. Team Mtautkus
Average — 7.375
Hard to find any major holes in this team except for maybe their time-to-pick ratio, which was off the charts.
2. Team RchevalierPHD
Average — 7.375
A strong RB core, good WRs, and Tom Brady will always get you high praise in this league.
1. Team Odhran
Average — 7.75
The 1.01 has all the fun. You can’t deny that CMC + a three headed dragon of Hill, Moore, and OBJ is a winning combination. Having supplemental pieces like the Patriots old TE and the Patriots new QB doesn’t hurt either.
