Despite posing a number of challenges for the crypto space, the year of 2022 signified intense development and growth for Keeper. As it remains a user-favorite tool for managing crypto assets, our team’s efforts to make it even better are bearing progressively impressive results. In one year, the number of Keeper users has increased by more than 5 times.

But it’s not the only area that has become more crowded, as our core team has gone through a major expansion from 3 to 10 members. We are proud that we’ve managed to assemble a team of professionals that means business and is confident in its ability to bring Keeper to the new heights disregarding the hardships. This is a little sneak peek at our grand plan for the future.

Year One Down, Infinite More to Go

But first, let’s revisit some of the key updates implemented and milestones reached in the past year. This one was our first whole year of the full-swing development, so we would like to take a step back and look at the results, which will also help us come up with ways of building upon them further.

New login options. One of the essential features implemented in Keeper was the addition of the Email and Ledger accounts support. Previously, users could only log in with their Seed account, which is the safest option, but it deterred many from using Keeper. We’ve been able to resolve all the security issues and make all login options available.

Data backup. It has become possible to export the Keeper account data into a Keystore file. This allows users to create a backup which they can keep in a safe place and use to restore access to a lost account or import the data into a new device.

UI. The UI undergone a whole lot of changes, among which are the display of the account value in USD and a convenient address book. And in order to bring more people to our worldwide family, we’ve translated UI into 9 languages:

  • Chinese
  • Indonesian
  • Japanese
  • Portuguese
  • Russian
  • Spanish
  • Thai
  • Turkish
  • Vietnamese

NFT functionality. NFTs have become a big part of crypto experience, so Keeper now has a dedicated section displaying all the NFTs belonging to user account. It is also possible to send them right from the Keeper’s interface.

Swap Widget. Last year we introduced Swap Widget that automatically optimizes exchange routes for the best trades possible. It can be quickly deployed to any website and set up in such a way that it swaps only specified currencies, which is especially useful for young projects willing to promote their token.

Mobile app. And finally, the crescendo of our last year’s work, the launch of Keeper mobile app. This is one of the most important steps toward mass adoption, and we cannot stress enough how happy we are that it’s been made possible. Now Keeper users are not bound to the browser extension alone and can check their balance or sign transactions on the go.

Keeping Momentum

Web wallet. This year, Keeper will introduce a new web wallet format. Users will be able to go to Keeper’s website, sign up or connect an existing account and use this web wallet to authorize on various websites and services. Web wallet will also be assisting with the connection of the wallets from the mobile Keeper and the browser extension. This will allow us to drastically expand Keeper’s functionality.

Portfolio manager. Upon the launch, web wallet will have a portfolio management functionality. Users will be able to see their total balance in currencies or tokens, as well as all the tokens invested across different platforms. All this will be available in Keeper as a unified dashboard. All information for each account can be filtered by specific portfolio, service, token, investment platform, etc.

Expanded transaction info. Keeper will have an expanded, smart transaction history. You will be able to see the most detailed information about each operation broken down by the used services and connected accounts, down to the slightest changes and their purpose.

Deposits and withdrawals. It will be possible to deposit/withdraw funds with the use of external providers via a bank card or from/to another blockchain. The deposit/withdrawal options will come with a system that picks the optimized route in line with user preferences like faster processing or lower fees.

Cross chain. This year we’re planning to test the cross chain waters by enabling the connection of external accounts. Such accounts will have access to the same features and capabilities as the native ones, including exhaustive transaction history, balance and portfolio dashboard.

Security. Currently, we are working on making Keeper more user friendly when it comes to situations that cause uncertainty. Should such a situation arise, there will be clear instructions, so that users could resolve day-to-day issues on their own and boost their confidence when dealing with crypto in general. This also includes warning messages helping users to recognize suspicious activity.

More login options. We are planning to introduce a new type of account that will combine the ease of management of an email account and the security of a seed phrase. It will be possible to restore access to your account without any backups, but it will require some form of light KYC.

Developer API. For developers, we are creating a new API that will provide advanced information about the blockchain, on-chain accounts, balances and services. It can be used both for personal needs and to build new services for the Waves ecosystem.

Keeper continues its course to becoming the single entry point for the Waves ecosystem, while building up its value as a standalone solution. With time, not only the Waves community will be able to benefit from Keeper, as it will be spreading to other blockchains through collaboration and quality service.
