Taking One For The Team Chapter Seventeen: The Visit
The director is coming for his corporate visit, so will he scrap all of Kevin’s plans or go along with them?
All thoughts and memories of the past weekend and Pamela’s visit disappeared as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. The building was staring back at me. Everything I dreaded was coming to me.
I walked into the building and rode the elevator up to my office.
Things went fast and furious the moment I sat down. There was a lot to do in a short amount of time. The director was coming to visit in two days. He was bringing a lot of his typical entourage. I still had the necessary forms to fill out as well as plans to put into action.
By the end of the normal work day, I hadn’t left my office other than to use the bathroom. I didn’t even stop for lunch; I wanted everything to go smoothly with this visit. My head was on the chopping block.
It was like that the next day, but at least I was making headway. Jennifer popped her head into my office. “I just wanted to say you’ve impressed me,” she stared at me.
I was surprised to hear this from her. “Really?” I asked, taking my sight off the monitor for the first time today.
