Duvallier — 1993–2015

We learned this morning of the passing of Duvallier, a Grand Prix Hanoverian. “Duvi”, as he was called by everyone who knew and loved him, was a special horse. You may have never heard of him. He was not the super-high scoring rockstar (such as Totilas or Valegro) although he scored very well. What Duvallier really excelled at was rock-solid consistency under a variety of riders. When we look at our numbers and statistics, we see that, when compared to other Grand Prix horses of his age, he scored above average and was 25% more consistent in the Grand Prix.

He holds the unique distinction of carrying more riders to their USDF Gold Medal than any other horse on record. Five different riders have ridden Duvallier to their Gold Medal. He was the Grand-master of Schoolmasters. You can view his CenterlineScores.com Profile here.

CenterlineScores.com will be wearing black today out of respect.

Out of respect for Duvi, his owner, his trainers and his riders, the background of CenterlineScores.com will be dimmed to black today and tomorrow.

Jay Stevens and Kerri Blalock, owners of CenterlineScores.com extend our condolences to Mimi as she remembers this great horse.

Rest in Peace Duvi!

Editor’s Note and Correction:

Upon further research we note that Aileen Daly’s Windsong also has 5 Gold Medals to his credit (and who also scores with similar consistency). We will continue to watch his career with interest as well.
