I want to trade like a 2nd grader.

1. A second grader has hope. A second grader is care free and has no worries. They believe that everything will get better.

How many times have you seen a trade go against you, stop out, only to see it come back later. Find a size of risk that does not make you nervous and you don’t care if it goes the wrong way, before it goes the right way.

2. A second grader doesn’t think about the end of the world.

To a trader, the end of the world is the end of his or her account. One thing you can do right now is to find or create a setup that you really like and is easy to trade. One that you really trust and prove to yourself that it works. I invite you to look at my setups and see if you like them. But if you do, really learn them, steal them and call them your own. Don’t just follow me. I may just be playing like a second grader. But if they work, don’t forget to let me know.

3. A second grader doesn’t care about news. He would rather be exploring his cave.

Turn off the news and the social networks or anything that would talk you out of your trade. Stay in your cave and tune everything out except what makes you happy.

4. A second grader would rather be on the playground than in the classroom all day.

Why do you stare at the charts all day and talk yourself into guessing. Set your alerts and go play. Go hop in the sandbox, ride a swing, or maybe take your car for a spin.

5. A second graders imagination can take a 12 inch wooden ruler and cause it to become an airplane or a machine gun.

I want my ruler, my trend line, to become a money making machine. How about you. Buy above the ruler and sell below. Buy low-sell high. Right! I have two indicators that I like for this and you can see them on my twitter feed @petegarner. The Rinse, Wash, Repeat Indicator and the Boing, Boing, Boing Indicator.
