Back home where I grew up, I remember waking up early every morning, smelling the coffee pot boiling, and my grandma talking in the kitchen. I remember walking into the kitchen
with my hair messed up, and without brushing my teeth to get that look from my grandma like Did you clean yourself?” She asked that every morning, also she used to call me Tarzan since I never liked brushing my hair. I have so many pretty and funny memories from when I was a little
girl. I remember how the house looked, the animals we had, and the people that lived with and around us. It was a beautiful place, and, we knew everyone.

The house was very old. It was outside the city in a little countryside named Sabanagrande, located in the country of Honduras.I remember the doors had a bright green color. My grandma used to complain about it, but I used to love it. The house had 3 bedrooms, a restroom, a living
room, a big kitchen, and a beautiful garden with a little yard for our animals. My grandma had the big room since it was her house. I loved looking in her bedroom because she had so many things with stories. She used to sit in her bed and tell me how her childhood was, and her past life. I remember her room had this woody scent. I shared a room with my two brothers. My room
was always a mess, because of the two boys in it. My mom and my dad shared a room, and their room was so clean and organized. Because they were not sharing with my brothers.

The living room was pretty. We had this old television that looked like a box. It was huge. We also had these wood chairs. The house had a warm feeling. The living room had pictures hanging on the walls. In one of the corners of the living room my grandma had this table with pictures of my uncle who passed away. Also she had a picture of my grandfather who passed away. The table was like a representation of them in house. She always kept flowers on the table even if they were fake, and a candle light up. My grandma is a very spiritual person.

The kitchen was another of my favorite places. My grandma was a great cook. She is still a great cook. She used to make so many delicious things for us. The kitchen had shinny floors with white walls. The kitchen had two different areas one was were our dining table was we would sit at night to eat and talk. We did not watched television, because most of the times it did
not work. Also in this area we had the fridge, and a big table to the side with some cabinets on top to organize dishes and things like that. On the lower level of the kitchen we used to have this thing called fogon is like a stove made from mud. Also there was a little sink to wash dishes close to it. We had a table with some pots and spoons for cooking. My grandma always kept a
basket of potatoes, and other vegetables just in case someone was hungry.

The front yard had this little fence, and my grandma planted an avocado tree in there. We had avocados for months. My dad used to say the front yard was covered in guacamole all the time. We also had this mango tree a few steps from the avocado tree. We used to eat so many mangoes. We made mango jelly, we made mango juice, mangoes everywhere. The backyard had
this beautiful garden. My grandma loved flowers. I remember my grandma used to sing to them and named them. She said plants are like kids talk to them, so they grow beautiful. She had so many plants and trees. She would wake up early to water them, and just clean them. She spent so
many hours doing this. She would just sing and talk to the plants. The backyard looked beautiful with all the colors.

Also, we had a few pets. We had a dog named Mariposa, she was this beautiful very friendly white dog , she had huge ears and eyes. She was a very sweet dog. We also had 3 birds, one of them was a parrot named Jorgito like my brother. This poor bird was named like my
brother, because the bird never shut his mouth just like my brother never did. We had two pigeons Lola and Sati. They were quiet and loved eating oranges. My grandma also had a cat named Misifus. The cat used to have epilepsy attacks. My grandma took special care of her, she also looked scary because she got electrocuted once so her hairs got a little burnt. We also had this little pig called Olivo who had blue eyes. He was the sweetest pig. He was little and chunky. This little pig was my favorite. I used to feed him leftovers from the kitchen. Every time he saw me coming he would start squeaking because he knew I had his food. We had some other animals: A few hens, ducks, and roosters.

Next door lived my uncle who had 10 kids. We were never alone. We used to play a lot with my cousins, and fight with them too. I had two favorite cousins Brenda and Aleida. We used to play a lot. We also had this old lady as our neighbor. She was very friendly. She used to look at us all the time. Sometimes she complained about the noise we did, but at the end she was always laughing while complaining. I think she just wanted to talk. We always had visitors. One of the visitors was my great grandma who used to visit us all the time. She was this very sweet old lady.
She always had snacks in her pockets. She also loved smiling although she had no teeth. She had a big heart and a sweet spirit. So many great memories with great people.

This place was my favorite. I spent all my childhood there. I made friends, I did naughty things. I gave food to animals. In my opinion, I had a great childhood. I grew up being a child doing silly things. The house is still there as is my grandma. My great grandma passed away, I still remember her like she is alive. Olivo passed away, and my dog also did. But something that
I still have are the memories, and every time I think about them I smile because this was my
happy place.
