Imagine an island where you can find everything you want, or need. Now if you would have the opportunity to take that island that you imagine, and place it anywhere is the sea, would you be able to leave behind and go to your perfect place. Even though it sounds too fictional, most people would not leave everything behind, just to go to the island of their dreams, and if they do they wouldn’t go by themselves. In this movie people don’t go out of the island just because they believe the island offers then everything they need, which is literally true. Moana is a very interesting movie, even though it looks childish, because this movie teach us an important lesson about life itself. I believe this movie helped me understand a lot better the real meaning of happiness, and it all starts with knowing who you are.

Moana’s Grandma “Tala” plays an important role in the movie, because while Moana’s parents try their best to keep her away from the sea. Tala is helping her follow what Moana considers she love the most, “the sea.” Moana’s Grandma is a good example of how parents should be nowadays. Tala shows her the way to live a better life, helping herself and the ones around her.

Knowing who you are does not mean, knowing the name of every bone in your body, or knowing what you like or what you don’t like. According to my knowledge acquired from this movie, knowing who you are can be described as knowing with what animal or element you feel the most connection. But, this doesn’t mean that because you feel a deep connection with your dog, you can be considered a dog. If you feel that’s your inner animal than nobody can judge you for that. Whatever makes you happy you have to chase it.

Moana had a huge connection with the water, since she was a little child, she used to talk to the water as if it was alive. Later in her life, she discovered that the water choose her, so she could bring peace back to her island that was being attacked by a disease. She found her inner self which is water. The picture above is describing the scene, where she was reminding the God of the islands that she originally was no a volcano (based on this movie), that she became a volcano because somebody stole her heart in order to build more stuff out of it.

In conclusion, this movie can teach us a huge lesson about life. Even though this movie looks childish we can’t judge a movie by its cover, but by its content and what we can learn from it. Moana’s Grandma “Tala” plays a big role in this movie, because she helped Moana find peace and happiness in her life, even though her Grandma died in the movie, Tala is seen as the animal she feel a deep connection with, a “stingray.” I personally recommend this movie to anybody who is having struggle finding what they like.
