Zootopia

Have you ever watched a movie that teaches a moral lesson through an animated film? The movie called Zootopia is about a beautiful metropolis where all the animals can live in peace with one another and where anyone can be anything. Judy Hoops is a bunny who grew up on the farm with her beloved family and had a dream to become a police officer in Zootopia one day. This is the reason why she decided to move far away from her family for the first time in her life, even though she didn’t know that she will face numerous obstacles in order to realize her dream. Furthermore, leaving her family behind was a huge sacrifice she chooses to do in order to become a police officer in Zootopia. What I like about this movie is that she never gives up, and that she invests her time, effort and energy in order for her dream to become true. She is even willing to sacrifice her own life in order to save others. I don’t like the scenes in the movie when a numerous amount of people lied to her in being too small to become a police officer. But she chooses to overcome every obstacle with a compassionate, understanding and valiant heart that leads her to realize her dream as a police officer.

In the first scene, she is overjoyed because she is going to work as a police officer in Zootopia as she had always dreamed. In the first day of her career, all the co-workers of Judy were assigned to investigate a case except her because Chief Bogo assigned her to hand out 200 parking tickets before noon. While she was handing out parking tickets in the streets, she meets a fox called Nick who was trying to buy a jumbo pop for his son named Finnick at the ice cream shop. Later in the day, she realizes that Nick lied to her after she follows him to Tundratown where he was making mini pops out of the jumbo pop that she bought for him thinking it was for his son who turns out to be a grown-up fennec fox. Then she follows them to the Savannah District where she saw them again but selling mini pops to the hamsters who were coming out of work and paid them for their illegal business. After Finnick and Nick went their separate ways, she decides to confront Nick for his crime nonetheless he denies having committed any crime against the state.

Afterwards, she went to the police station and asks Chief Bogo to assign her to the missing mammal case. At that moment Mrs. Otterton, was asking for help to find her husband, Emmitt, where Judy volunteers to find him. That is why Chief Bogo allows Judy to take the case with time limit of 48 hours to find him or she will lose her occupation of being a police officer. Even though she didn’t know certain locations in the city and only had one lead in the case she didn’t give up. So, she decides to ask Nick for help to find out where Emmitt was located the last time he was seen. In order for Nick to help her in this case, she recorded him with her carrot pen recorder and told him she will use his own words against him for never having filed his taxes and report his crime to the state unless Nick helps Judy find Emmitt. Therefore, Nick decides to lend a helping hand to Judy.

At first, Nick takes her to Mystic Springs Oasis that was the last place Emmitt was seen in public. At the yoga place Judy meets with the receptionist named Yax who gives them a lot of information about the victim especially the plate number of the vehicle that picked up Emmitt the last time Yax saw him in person.

Secondly, Judy and Nick went to the Department of Mammal Vehicles (DMV) to run the plate number. When they arrived at the DMV to find where the limousine that picked up Emmitt was located a friend called Flash that works at the DMV helps them to run the plate number, but it took almost the entire day to complete that task because Flash is a sloth.

Thirdly, they went to the place where the limousine that took Emmitt was located and they discovered that in the back seat of the limousine there was claw marks all over which is abnormal. After searching the limousine Nick realized who owned this vehicle causing him to tell Judy they should leave because the owner of this limousine is a powerful and prosperous man called Mr. Big whom he had deceived and if caught Mr. Big would end his life. But the moment they decide to leave they were confronted by two polar bears who push them into a car and escort them to meet their boss Mr. Big.

When they arrive at the house of Mr. Big and his body guards took them to his office and Judy was surprised to find out that the boss is a mouse. She decides to be valiant by confronting Mr. Big and claim him that he is related to the disappearance of Emmitt. Mr. Big didn’t pay attention to her because he only wanted to repay evil with evil that Nick has dealt him and ordered his body guards to throw them into the icy water. When all seemed lost suddenly Mr. Big daughter Fru Fru with her wedding dress arrives and recognizes Judy who saved her from being crushed from a big doughnut. In gratitude, Mr. Big forgives Nick and invites both of them to his daughter wedding. During the wedding Mr. Big explains to them what happened to Emmitt who was his florist. The day, Mr. Big sent his personal driver called Manchas to pick up Mr. Otterton, he went savage and attacked Manchas and disappeared. Therefore, Mr. Big sent them to speak with Manchas, the driver who was attacked by Emmitt.

When Judy and Nick went to Manchas house to get information about what happened to Mr. Otterton, they saw a scratch he had on his face and acting with fear. The driver informed them that Emmitt was speaking about “night howlers” before he attacked him. Suddenly in a blink of an eye Manchas becomes savage just like Emmitt and started to purse them with the intent to kill which is why Judy and Nick ran away to preserve their life. While Nick and Judy were being attacked by Manchas, she called Chief Bogo for help but before they arrived Manchas disappear too. She tries to explain the Chief that she believes Emmitt and Manchas case were related but Chief Bogo didn’t believe her because she didn’t have evidence, so he orders her to give up and gave him the officer badge which she hesitates to do because it would mean the end of her career as a police officer. At the moment the Chief to her to give up Nick intercept him by told him that she has discovered more clues about the missing mammal case than the rest of the police department and has ten hours left to find Emmitt.

Afterwards, they left that place and Nick begins to tell her about himself when he was a boy with a dream to become a ranger scout that was crushed by his companions who underestimated him for being a fox. Meanwhile Judy consoles him, Nick realizes that there are traffic cameras all over the city and that the cameras can help them to find out where Manchas is located. So, Judy decides to go to the Assistant Mayor, Bellwether who allows them to locate Manchas through the cameras.

Judy and Nick find out that Manchas was taken by wolves to an old building in Cliffside Asylum. At that moment, they arrived at the place, where there were wolves protecting the place. Judy and Nick decide to enter the old building without being seen by anyone to find out why the predators were going savage. When the mayor and the doctor entered the room where all the predators who became savage were located, Judy decides to record the conversation. Suddenly her phone rings and the doctor orders security to sweep the area but the guards couldn’t see them because they escaped by flushing themselves down the toilet. Afterwards, she contacts Clawhauser, the secretary of the police station, and telling him to notify Chief Bogo that all the predators who were missing were found.

When the police arrive, they arrest everyone working in that old building including the mayor. The mayor, Lionheart claims that he hid the predators that were going savage to find out the cause for this abnormality. The next day, Judy asks Nick to become her partner in justice as a police officer but during the press conference where she delivers a speech that unintentional wounds the dignity of Nick because she referred to all predators as enemies of the state.

After being one of the reasons why Zootopia was chaotic Judy decides to return to the family-owned farm where she finds out from her father that a night howler is a plant that causes animals to go savage. With this new revelation she drives back to Zootopia and reconciles with Nick. He decides to help her again to find out who was responsible for framing the predators.

During some further investigation Judy and Nick discover that the new mayor of Zootopia, Bellwether is the criminal mastermind. Before they could arrest Bellwether, she asks Judy to co-work with her, but Judy refuses her. When Bellwether acknowledged that Judy is going to fight on the side of righteousness she decided to stall her captors and almost escaped until being outwitted by the fox and bunny. Later on, she was arrested by ZPD for being the mastermind of why predators were going savage. Afterwards, peace is restored in Zootopia while Judy returns to the police force and Nick graduates from the police academy becoming the first fox officer in ZPD and being the partner in justice of Judy.

Finally, the victims were restored to goodness and well-being. Meanwhile Judy and Nick realized although flawed they are a masterpiece in the making. This movie has a personal and profound message no matter how small and big you are in size and strength always choose to respect and be kind to yourself and be the change you wish to see in the world. Also, it doesn’t matter if you fail at becoming the best version of yourself what matters is to choose to never give up on yourself and others. I like this movie because it has taught me a lesson on personal integrity and honorable character that I can watch with my own children in the future.
