1 Million KEEP Awarded as Playing for Keeps Wraps Up Its First Month

Contributions focused on ECDSA staking and hardware experimentation claimed judge Zaki Manian’s top prizes

Month one of Playing for Keeps is officially in the books, and 1,000,000 KEEP have been awarded to contributors by our judge for May, Zaki Manian of Cosmos.

This month’s top winner is Danil Ushakov for contributions around hardware experimentation, github PRs, and bug reports. Danil is awarded 110,000 KEEP as well as the coveted “Zaki Prize.”

“I love Danil’s work,” says Zaki. “The Github issues he opened show that he’s found a lead on something substantive, and shows good judgement on what’s actually an important issue. Scrappy hardware experiments are always cool.”

Other top winners included suprnrdy, mutedtommy, paddyson, elderorb, and axone77, each of whom won 100,000 KEEP. Their contributions were focused on ECDSA staking and many issues including technical requests and hardware experimentation. In total, 54 contributors were awarded 1,000 KEEP or more in May.

The stakedrop has seen strong engagement so far, with over 110 entries for the first month of Playing for Keeps.

Momentum builds in June

Playing for Keeps continues in June with our next judge, Spencer Noon. This month, the judging criteria will focus on successful t-ECDSA client staking and other criteria to be revealed by Spencer next week. All through this month, contributors can win KEEP by building on the momentum we’ve already seen.

Playing for Keeps is a chance to learn to stake and win KEEP tokens by contributing to the community. Anyone can join in and start earning. As the first month’s results show, our talented supporters are contributing in ways that make a real difference to the Keep Network and our expanding community. And we want anyone who makes a positive difference to the growth of Keep to flourish with the entire project.

We’re offering rewards that reflect the value of these contributions. Just as in May, this month prizes from 100–100,000 KEEP will be given for the work that adds the most value to the network in the most critical areas. And Playing for Keeps is a way to get involved in one of the most exciting blockchain projects currently underway at the ground floor. Join our Discord: In order to qualify your submission for Playing for Keeps prizes, you must join our Discord server and give us a quick overview of who you are in the introduction message. We want to get to know everyone and make sure we don’t miss any submissions, so make sure you join the Discord.

Submit a Play for Keeps entry message in #introduce-yourself which includes:

• A name by which to address you in the channel
• Why you’re interested in Keep or tBTC
• What you are submitting for Playing for Keeps prizes — This can be an idea if you aren’t ready with a fully formed idea!
• If you’ve already produced something you want to submit as an entry

tBTC Stakedrop begins June 8

Alongside Playing for Keeps, the tBTC stakedrop kicks off with a live Crowdcast on June 8. Over the following month, we will unveil additional milestones, including an interactive dashboard for staking and claiming rewards. Ultimately, the stakedrop will let ETH holders earn KEEP by proving their ability to secure the Keep network. tBTC, which lets people safely earn with their Bitcoin, is the first app built atop the Keep Network. Anyone can deposit their BTC to take full advantage of Ethereum, and anyone with the capital and know-how will be able to earn fees staking and supporting the bridge.
