Hacking away this summer: DappHack 2018

We are proud to share that earlier this month members of the Keep team attended and supported a distributed apps hackathon in Atlanta, Georgia. We sponsored 24 hours of deep-diving into the blockchain industry’s most cutting-edge developer tools.

Everyone who attended DappHack had the opportunity to learn from experienced speakers, mentors, and judges. Attendees coded alongside fellow dApp enthusiasts to turn an existing application into a distributed trustless app, or build a new idea from the ground up.

Participants used the APIs, SDKs, and other tools from today’s leading innovators. They also got to keep any and all intellectual property they brought or built for this challenge.

There was a great atmosphere of inspiration created by bright minds in the space! A big thank you to everyone who took part. Here’s a short summary of this event:

• 10 teams
• 5 dApps built
• 45 burritos devoured
• 3 under-the-desk naps :)

Stay tuned for the more DappHack events! (They are looking at NYC, Portland, or San Francisco as their next stops and would love to see you there!). The events are normally free and no prior blockchain experience is necessary. You can also expect food, drinks, and prize bundles filled with tech goodies.

Hackathons are an excellent way to add value to the space and encourage more people to learn and build on blockchain. We are always looking for developer-focused events locally and online.

Our next event is HackSummit, a virtual conference for developers where you can learn about blockchain concepts. It’s July 9–11th and we would love to have you join.
