Keevo Connect #1
From all of us at Keevo, we’d like to thank our early supporters, pre-order customers and members of the community. We’re happy you are here and we appreciate your loyalty. We’ve been hard at work and want to start sharing more frequent updates. This is the first of a monthly series we are going to call “Keevo Connect” which will give you updates on Keevo products and services. In today’s first release, we want to cover the status of the product development, production ramp and preparation for launch.
Update on our Product Launch and Shipping Roadmap
The team has been focused on building and shipping a product that meets the high standards we set for Keevo. We recently made a change to one of the Secure Elements to make the platform more expandable in the long term. This change also advances the security capabilities of the device allowing us to build more features to protect your crypto assets that would not have been possible with the previous components and configuration. Once these changes are incorporated we have a third party that will perform a rigorous series of penetration testing. While our decisions to change to this new Secure Element at this stage of development were made for the right reasons, it also caused us to delay our ship date to January 2020.
Hardware Update
In addition to upgrading our secure MCU, we also made some other important refinements to the product. We felt that the benefits of all these changes would be worth the wait. Some of these upgrades included the following:
- Enhanced fingerprint sensor to improve the consistency of the recognition, and capturing better/more vector images which will enhance the security of the biometric factor and reduce the false recognition rate.
- Added additional flash memory which will allow us to add more concurrent support of DApps and additional crypto currencies.
- Modified test points that improve our ability to manufacture Keevos reliably.
While the decision to postpone our first shipments to January 2020 is a bit disappointing, we felt it is the right thing to do to advance the product and technology. We don’t want to be like other startups who may push something out to our customers before it’s 100% ready. In this case, while we’re pushing hard, we don’t want to “move too fast and break”; there is too much at stake and we want to deliver on our promise of the premium quality, integrity, convenience and security of the first Keevo model ones that we ship.
As a thank you for your continued patience and for all the ongoing support, we’re giving an extra six months of Keevo Premium Plus membership to everyone who pre-ordered a Keevo prior to September 23rd, 2019. This means, members who pre-ordered a Keevo Special Limited Edition will get 18 months of Premium Plus membership and now all pre-orders who reserved a standard Keevo will now automatically get their first 6 months of Premium Plus Membership for free if they choose to join. Again, your support and the loyalty of our community is at the heart of what we’re trying to build and drives us to strive for the very best product and service.
Software Updates
We’ve also been working hard on the software and are excited to show you some of the UI you will experience in your Keevo wallet.
