TikTok inspires new hair trends
TikTok is responsible for creating a plethora of new trends including new hairstyles.
The video sharing app has taken society by storm in the last few months with its dancing, dark humor and hair and fashion trends. Girls are adorning their hair with colorful fringe, hair clips, padded headbands and a middle part.
E- girls have popularized the colorful front fringe trend.
They are bleaching or dying the front inch of their hair while leaving the rest a different color.
The coronavirus quarantine has also inspired many girls to cut their own bangs.
Most barbershops and hair salons are closed, further encouraging people to take their hair into their own hands.
Emily Zeck (@thepineapplegirl) is one of many users who took the risk and chopped her own bangs.
Her video with the caption “WHAT DID I DO” has nearly 10 million likes.
Some TikTok users are choosing to try a less permanent trend than dying or cutting their hair.
Padded headbands, clamp hair clips and 90s inspired butterfly clips are trendy hair accessories that do not require a long term commitment.
Vi Luong (@viluong) posted a video of her showing off different hair clip hairstyles in February and the video has more than 25,000 likes.
Hair clips can be used to pull back bangs, accessorize a low ponytail and add flare to a luscious curled look.
Some users have even taken to creating their own hair clips out of resin.
A video posted by Hailey Urbina (@thehaileyurbina) of her creating clear hair clips with gold accents has 1.3 million likes.
The most simple trend of all is the middle part.
People are swapping their side part for a down the middle part similar to popular users.
Users like Charli D’Amelio (@charlidamelio) sport a middle part and many other people are beginning to follow suit.
