The Future of Social Media

For my generation, we have been fortunate to never experience waiting for a turn to use the household landline to talk to friends because social media has consecutively evolved over the years, just like us. As weird as it is that I’m technically included as a part of the Generation Z demographic and am grouped with some of my siblings close in age with me, the influence of social media is only going to keep expanding years down the line.

Since social media has mastered its impact of being able to be the driving force for entrepreneurs and businesses to engage with consumers and followers online in a personalized way, the majority of our all daily interactions with people now revolve around it. Plus, the power of social media has been able to progress society’s acceptance of inclusivity- providing a space and opportunity for anyone to share their interests, talents, and perspectives to tailored or broad audiences big and small.

What’s next for the future of social media?

Social media has made it possible for people to carry-out this medium as a career if they so desire to cultivate their personal brand or attract audiences with messaging to sell their products and ideas.

Looking ahead, I believe that this will only continue to expand to become a reality for anyone willing to keep up and adapt to change. Another thing — we’re a nation that values convenience so we will keep finding ways to make life easier and enjoyable as much as possible.

With advanced shipping and food delivery services, steaming wars between Disney+, Netflix, (and tons of others) point to the reality that the move of everything “going digital” is almost here — and it won’t be going away anytime soon.

My 12-year-old little brother Jream can tell you that. He along with my other little siblings are often aware about the latest social trends — some of which I’m just getting to know more about myself.
