Healthcare needs help. Lots of help. Machine Learning and AI hold the promise to unlock optimizations and patterns that can make care more affordable, while increasing patient satisfaction and reducing clinician fatigue. Tools are many. Working solutions few.
To enable KenSci to solve some of these challenging problems in healthcare, we are inviting fellow data science leaders to join us in the journey to fight death with data science. Specifically, we are looking to grow the team and beginning the search for a VP of Machine Learning. Other titles such as Head of ML or VP of Data Science are also mentionable here.
Key in this role is the passion with which you love to solve these problems. When you are working with some of the most well renowned healthcare organizations across the globe, data exploration and feature construction will take on a whole new meaning to become socially relevant and meaningful. The data science and engineering team at KenSci is amazingly talented, a trailblazer with both publications and deployments under the belt, so working with them is more than fun. It is a joy!
The size and complexity of datasets and algorithms is also mesmerizing. One day you are looking for interpretable models, to another day exploring kalman filters with deep neural nets. We are building a data platform for healthcare with ML at its core.

The Role:
· Lead and grow a talented data science team on a mission to create meaningful social impact of AI in healthcare.
· Design and develop core data pipeline features that leverage machine learning at scale on large real-world healthcare datasets.
· Solve large complex problems from predicting disease progressions given personal & population driven characteristics, to finding insights and interventions to reverse or slow down progression of disease, optimize allocation of resources, and estimate costs of care.
· Lead, Collaborate & Connect with leaders and care givers at world-renowned healthcare institutions.

Key attributes we look for:
· Passion to construct great products focused on ML and AI
· Demonstrated leadership with ability to build, grow and mentor data science teams
· Self-starter: you get things done
· Balance pragmatism with sound theoretical basis
Desired Skills and Experience :
· Demonstrated ability for managing ML teams
· Engineering/product development experience
· 7+ years of hands-on expertise in ML tools such as R/Python with evidence of solving numerous problems using ML techniques of which
· 3+ years of experience leading data science teams
· Keen interest in converting ML insights into Visualizations and representations
· Ability to communicate to both: deeply technical and very non-technical audiences
· Understanding of healthcare data formats, workflows, and scenarios is a plus
· PhD. or Masters in Computer Science/Statistics/Math or related field
