Many NGOs and individuals have joined hands with the Ketto community to foster the wellbeing of children by either ensuring they get healthy food, or desired education, or even developmental programmes through sports.
For instance, YUWA, an NGO based in Jharkhand raised funds on Ketto to stop the heinous crimes of human trafficking and child marriage. This NGO has been fighting these evils through education and sports since 2009. The girls supported by this NGO have been earning accolades in academics and sports, changing the perception and outlook of their communities. Due to crowdfunding, the cause got a lot of support and most importantly visibility. YUWA runs a football programme for over 450 girls, which won the revered Laureus Sport for Good Award in February 2019.
U & I, an NGO, through their Bridge The Gap programme reached out to 850 children, Through crowdfunding on Ketto U&I managed to teach English, Math and Science to these students. With a tutor-student ratio of 1:3, these at-risk children received the individual attention they need to succeed. Over Rs 7.3 lakhs was raised by 11 supporters.
