Keybox had its first public introduction to the audience at one of Europe’s premier cryptocurrency and blockchain conference, the Crypto Summit Zurich 2018. The two-day summit brought together leaders from over 30 different countries to share their crypto experiences and best practices from different perspectives; from investors and entrepreneurs to policy makers and academics.

The summit tackled important issues in the industry, including how blockchain is disrupting traditional financing, best practices within the ICO market and how changes in government regulations have impacted the future of ICOs.

Keybox’s CEO, David White and Chairman, Eric van der Kleij were both present at the conference, chairing and contributing to several panel discussions.

One of the more interesting and relevant topics brought up at the Crypto Summit, was a conversation on the security of storing crypto assets. In the panel discussion, entitled “The security of crypto assets: How to protect your wealth”, David White discussed how the main way to create mass adoption of cryptocurrencies, is to make security easy. “People will not deal with money if it’s not secure. In order to get mass adoption, security has to be a given and in order for security to be a given, it has to be easy. This is the main driver behind Keybox, to make security easy”. David went on to describe how typically, security solutions for storing cryptocurrencies have been centralised, which fundamentally goes against the decentralised nature that we so appreciate about cryptocurrencies and blockchain. Therefore, “embracing the decentralised nature of cryptocurrencies to create a security solution”, such as is the case with Keybox, “is the way forward for the wider adoption of cryptocurrencies”.

We are honored to have launched Keybox at such a leading and disruptive cryptocurrency conference and look forward to having Keybox be the one-stop solution to keeping people’s private keys safe through its decentralised and distributed security architecture.
