Some exciting startup competitions are coming up. The 43North startup competition in Buffalo is bringing out some serious cash and great startups. The last few years, Canadian startups tend to come out as not only strong contenders but also win. For those of you who haven’t heard about 43North, it’s one of the biggest global startup competitions with $5 Million in prizes. What do startups get besides some hefty amount of cash? Free incubator space, mentors, networks and healthy-tax breaks. This is a great way for Canadian startups to break into US and global markets. Last night featured some local pitches from Toronto in preparation for the big event. We bring some of the highlights:

Sampler App: This startup is redefining product sampling. They call it Sampling Gone Social! With some serious traction, this startup is on their path to growth. Sampler app is redefining product sampling. They help CPG brands to distribute product samples to consumers through digital channels in a more targeted and measurable way than traditional methods.

Stathletes: Using data for better performance. Very exciting startup starting out in hockey. It’s hockey’s deepest performance data & analytics. This helps coaches and athletes make better qualified decisions. Leveraging data specific conclusions can be made that adds huge value to player development and positively influence the player and team.

Tranqool: This startup is bringing therapy to the digital world and it’s disrupting the way therapy is delivered.
