McMaster University has the right combination of startup ecosystem elements: talent, Innovation Factory, the Forge and many research centres. This place is bound for some great innovation. The McMaster startup spectrum competition drew a massive crowd, tons of talent and great startups. Innovation and startup conversation were certainly in the air. There were plenty of cheers for our local startups to pushing for new ideas and creating new opportunities. Let’s bring you some pitches from the event:

20/20 Optimeyes was a compelling pitch. She came out with a strong understanding of the dry eyes industry and what their solution offered.

Eatable is a quick recipe app for home cooked meals specifically for students. The startup brings out a combination of healthy meals that are quick to get done. Ideal solution for students on campus.

Virtual Possibilities has an innovative solution in laparoscopic surgery procedure.

KDi SMS is a self-management online platform for Kids diabetes. Bringing gasification to keep kids motivated and manage diabetes.

FISH TECHNOLOGIES is changing the agriculture industry through alternative methods, entrepreneurship, and design. With their focus on greenhouse technologies, their plans to expand to urban farming and beyond.

HiNT is developing a wearable point of care device that will alert high-risk patients, their caregivers and their medical support team when they are having a stroke in their sleep. Very cool wearable!
