Virgin Voyages, a new cruise line (YES, it is Richard Branson) is about to create an absolutely new experience for queer people. Known for his breakthrough initiatives, Richard Branson has clearly recognized the problems LGBTQ travelers are facing and he is ready to tackle them for the public good. “Businesses are starting to see that they have important roles to play in standing up for LGBTQ rights, especially in places where those rights are being violated. This includes the travel industry, as many LGBTQ travelers feel discriminated against or feel uncomfortable being themselves while on holiday.” That is undoubtedly a great relief for all LGBTQ travelers. For many of them holidays are stressful and associated with restrictions and isolation. That is absolutely wrong and unfair. Thus, Virgin Voyages are here for a truly exceptional experience, relaxing and friendly, among the soulmates. The flagship Scarlet Lady is waiting for its guests starting 2020 for a cruise from Miami to Carribean.

Luckily, it is not the only and far not the first attempt of Virgin Group to support LGBTQ community worldwide. Earlier this year Virgin Atlantic connected London and New York with LGBTQ-only crew during the pride month. That is a great example of inclusivity for other carriers around the globe simple and elegant. Tituss Burgess was hired as a ceremony master for this flight. “Our purpose at Virgin is changing business for good, and that means using our business to make a positive impact in the lives of our employees as well as our customers,” explained Branson.

“We wanted Virgin Voyages to make positive changes in the world. The brand purpose behind the company is ‘Epic Sea Change for All,’ and ‘all’ includes our partners, our sailors, our ocean, the communities we operate in, and our crew,” he added when talking specifically about cruise line.

There is for sure a business interest behind this project. That is to make “customer bases are as diverse and inclusive as possible.” Aside positive social impact, the idea is feasible and promising as LGBTQ community is rapidly growing worldwide. Thus, ignoring its demands as made by many conservative firms leaving those out of booming market. Let us hope for more companies to follow Branson’s example and to create truly diverse and inclusive community on-board.
