For LGBTQ community the options to enjoy virtual world are still limited with second-role characters only. Things, however, are about to change this fall. Pride Run from IV Productions (developer Ivan Venturi) will be released by October 11 (International Coming Out Day). According to Venturi, the game features “more meaningful LGBTQ representation”, that is the choice of LGBTQ characters to play for. Moreover, the developer called for other companies to follow his route. Isn’t it an excellent move to inclusion?

Talking about the original idea, Venturi said: “Three years ago I was producing a game called Riot: Civil Unrest, which is a game about fighting between police and rioters.” It was a starting point. “So I had this pixel art crowd in the game already and then on October 11 it was International Coming Out day and I heard young people on the radio talking about coming out to their friends and family, “ continued Ivan. “It touched me and I wondered as a game producer if I could do anything to help this process: to help give young people courage and show that there’s nothing wrong with who they are,” he concluded.

According to developer’s preview, the game will feature two different play modes: Vanilla and Play Hard. The first mode that is more relaxing with the task to move the parade forward and gather more participants. Play Hard mode includes Real-Time Tactics elements that is to customize the parade from the very beginning, to ensure the parade is properly protected from the attacks that make occur and to hit the attackers back. The latter is much more involving and realistic as it may help to develop skills the participants of pride parades may need in real life. What will be the next triple_A game for LGBTQ?
