This story is about the Man who just wanted to be happy with his newborn baby. Unfortunately, he has no chance. At least as of now. Freddy McConnell from Kent (UK) started living as a man several years ago while retaining female reproductive system. Last year got pregnant via fertilization treatment. Despite delivering a baby, his self-identification remained as male reflected in updated birth certificate. Not surprisingly, Freddy wanted to be legally registered as a father. The registrar, however, decided differently and refused to satisfy Freddy’s claim. Unhappy father went to the court to protect himself and his child. The troubles continued.

The court ruled to deny Freddy’s claim. This decision has created the case. The case for trans people to be ignored and being refused in their fundamental rights. “If it is upholding the status quo then I am really worried about what that this means not just for me but other trans people who are parents or who want to become parents,” said Freddy. “It has serious implications for non-traditional family structures. It upholds the view that only the most traditional forms of family are properly recognised or treated equally. It’s just not fair,” he added. That is so true. For the UK championing in advocating LGBTQ rights that is such a painful rollback that has ruined completely the very fragile equality that is being established.

The unhappy father who has recently in documentary, Seahorse, revealing his story is determined to fight. He plans to appeal and restore equality. Trans community around the globe is keeping an eye on the case and is ready to support the brave Man.
