The nationwide struggle for LGBTQ equal rights keeps going. However, even for the areas it is already over concerns still remain. Being a member of a local community actually means to live nearby, to know the guy across the road and be ready to help if necessary. With LGBTQ population growing in numbers worldwide the question of housing becomes paramount.

To reveal the preferences of potential clients gayrealestate.com has conducted a survey of over fifteen hundred partner agents specializing in properties for LGBTQ buyers. Not surprisingly, the leading trends revealed are still in favor of safety and welcoming neighborhood. Moreover, neighborhood was mentioned as a key criterion by over two-thirds of the respondents leaving behind the actual design and amenities of the house. The trend clearly demonstrates the issues existing in our society with hatred and violence outbreaks not being 100% excluded.

Unsafe feeling is spread over the generations with 10% of LGBTQ students being afraid of their classmates and thus enforced to hide their orientation rather than to enjoy life and be themselves. Luckily, they are not alone any more as many schools tend to establish committees intended to create and/or maintain safe, diverse and inclusive environment on campus. That is the only way to have a diverse community focused on achieving goals, opening new horizons and creating mutually enriching experiences rather than regressing to a wild condition with personal hatred and intolerance.

Thus, consulting services for LGBTQ people looking for the communities that cultivate and promote embolden inclusivity, are paramount importance. Not only they meet buyers immediate needs but also help to do, at least partially, the government job in ensuring equality in real estate market and social life. Finally, constant monitoring of market trends may serve as a good leading indicator for possible unrests and violence outbreaks.
