Booking.com has a global audience in 43 languages and holds over 28 million properties in the world. The digital travel agency is focused on building easy travel experiences for everyone through its online hotel booking services. In partnership with Mycelebs, Booking.com was able to create an app that assisted in the whole process of travel.

My Bucketlist is an app that helps users plan their trips using information powered by artificial intelligence. The app aimed to decrease the imbalance in the travel industry due to biased marketing and to provide travelers all over the world with information on a wide array of destinations.

Traveling the world with Keytalk

Keytalk proved that boosting overseas travel, especially in the Korean market was easily solvable by providing travelers with more information. Through AI and NLP algorithms, My Bucketlist curated the attractions and highlights of destinations of over 17,000 destinations. With this information, tourists became more willing to choose from a greater variety of cities and hotels — even if lesser known or unheard of. The change allowed Booking.com to increase booking rates in places that were not so famous prior to the adaptation of the app.

Using AI also provided direct advantages to its users too. By creating all information with little to no human intervention, Mycelebs and Booking.com were able to give their users discounts on all their hotels. The dynamic travel guide not only made planning trips easier and more diverse, it also allowed for users to switch quickly to the booking site and find better deals with more discounts.

Trip planning made fun

A wider variety of destinations and activity options presented an opportunity for Booking.com to expand its business. The one-of-a-kind travel app aggregated over 100M travel recommendations for 17+K cities in the world. The detailed curations using AI Keytalk provided a chance for travelers to find new, exciting places to visit.

With a simple touch, travelers were able to make travel plans and book hotel deals for great prices. Diversified travel preferences opened up lots of opportunities for Booking.com and allowed them to return the favor through 15% cash back on all hotel reservations.

My Bucketlist had record-breaking downloads in the first month of launch, with over 500K downloads. It was a great profit source for Booking.com and at the same time allowed Mycelebs to showcase the effects of Keytalk through their partnership.
