Litecoin Foundation Partners with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)

The Litecoin Foundation has partnered with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), in a deal to promote the cryptocurrency. This is a milestone for Litecoin and cryptocurrency in general as no other coin has sponsored a UFC event to date. With brands and institutions continuing to push into cryptocurrency and blockchain, this is yet another signal of this technology moving closer towards the mainstream.

The partners and investors in the first round include Boston Consulting Group, CMT Digital, Eagle Seven, Galaxy Digital, Goldfinch Partners, Alan Howard, Horizons Ventures, Intercontinental Exchange, Microsoft’s venture capital arm, M12, Pantera Capital, PayU, the fintech arm of Naspers, and Protocol Ventures.

Coindesk Most Influential 2018

Last week Coindesk released their 10 Most Influential in Blockchain List. The list created a lot of buzz in the crypto world and a lot of people tend to disagree with some people in this list. One of the people that was a surprise to many people was Nouriel Roubini, a person who has been fightings against crypto really hard last year. Another surprise was porn-star Brenna Sparks who made a weird statement later on. The clear number one of the list is CZ Binance.

Bitcoin 10th Birthday

It has been 10 years ago since Bitcoin came alive after the genesis block on 3 January 2009. 10 years later a lot has changed. Satoshi Nakamoto embedded in the hexadecimal code on the genesis block’s coinbase, the message, after being decoded, reads as follows: “The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks.” The message is a direct allusion to the headline for The Times the day Bitcoin launched.

10 years later BitMEX Research‏ @BitMEXResearch took the lead and thanked Satoshi in The Times.

Proof of Keys

You may have heard about Proof of Keys and wonder what it is.

Every January 3rd the Bitcoin community HODLers of Last Resort participate in a Proof of Keys celebration by demanding and taking possession of all bitcoins held by trusted third parties on their behalf. By demanding and taking possession of their assets, individuals will learn real fast with blockchain proof whether they are part of the elite HODLers or not. Proof of Keys is the annual HODLer initiation.

Their motto: Not your keys; Not your bitcoin.

BitTorrent Is Launching Its Own Cryptocurrency on the Tron Network and will use Binance Launchpad

BitTorrent, which pioneered peer-to-peer technology for sharing files on the internet, is creating its own cryptocurrency.

Issued by the Singapore-based BitTorrent Foundation, the new BitTorrent Token (BTT) will run on the tron protocol, developed by Tron, which acquired BitTorrent in June of last year. The file-sharing software company claims to have 100 million users.

Justin Sun, founder of Tron and CEO of BitTorrent, said in a press release:

In one giant leap, we can introduce blockchain to hundreds of millions of users around the world and empower a new generation of content creators with the tools to distribute their content directly to others on the web.

BTT will be available to non-U.S. accounts through Binance Launchpad, a listing service for entrepreneurs looking to raise funding via token sales. The tokens will also be distributed through airdrops of some kind that will be announced on Sun’s Twitter feed. A spokesperson for Tron declined to give more details about the airdrops.
