In the past, the approach of treating the psycho with physical and biological methods (electrocuting, scalding by boiling water, dissecting, and so on) was destroyed by Freud, instead, who laid the groundwork for modern psychology by simply talking and suggesting ways to express repressed desires, passion, and emotions.

Thanks to Freud, we have discovered innumerable findings about dreams, slips of the tongue, sex, desire, fear, guilt, and even the psychology of religion.
