Khwahishay
Khwahishay is not mere a collaboration for us, It’s the manifestation of years of understanding and friendship. As the name suggests, ‘Khwahishay’ stands for our desire to create something far bigger than both our lives combined.
I am an ambitious writer, who left her job to follow her passion and Swati is an enthusiastic photographer, who works full time as a civil engineer. We have known each other our entire lives. Even when we went to different colleges in different cities and met new people, our creativity, honesty and craziness kept us linked. Our friendship flourished because we were learning the rules of life together. We were growing together. We wanted to share this synergy with people like us, who also appreciate the beauty of everyday life.
I remember the day we decided to start ‘Khwahishay’, when to ensure continuity, we decided to post a new picture with a caption every day. While Swati captured every precious moment, I found the words to share my appreciation of those pictures. There was a huge change in our perspective because of this blast of creativity. We came across many budding writers and photographers, learned new techniques and understood the way things work on different platform. We started to appreciate the things that we used to take for granted in everyday life. Like an idea in your mind, which can evolve into a heartfelt poem. A beautiful flower in your backyard, a slightly tilted tree or a gorgeous view from the roof top or a hill, which can be a catalogue for alluring nature. We have become more patient, observant and dedicated to our art. All the things that we have learned in the last two months have enriched our lives in ways we couldn’t even imagine.
Khwahishay was meant to exist. It does not matter whether it’s Instagram or any other social media platform, it was about time for Khwahishay to become a part of our lives. It feels like we are growing with Khwahishay. We are like two travelers, who have just started the journey to an unknown destination. We will keep sharing our experiences through pictures and captions in our Instagram grid which is as beautiful as our friendship.
