There are many remote workers and freelancers in India thanks to the good IT environment.

Internet infrastructure in India: getting faster and cheaper
For the remote workers, one of the most important things are internet environment since it is difficult to complete their work under slow or off-and-on circumstances. 15 years ago, the internet environment in India was terrible that was slow, expensive and limited place. However, it is getting better in this 8 years since the internet infrastructure has been established. Meharu is using fibernet which speed is 15 Mbps and can be up to 100 Mbps if she changes the plan. In addition people can work anytime and everywhere because they can connect to the internet everywhere including train stations and bus stops.
The cost is significant for the remote workers too. In India, JIO, an Indian mobile network operator, provides the plan that 10 to 30 GB free use everyday, or other company has the 15 GB free plan just paying 700 rupee (about 10 USD) per month. People can get a laptop computer cheaply in India, for example, basic model fo HP or Lenovo is 200 to 300 USD in India.
