We knew her as a left-leaning Supreme Court justice, but in the wake of her passing this week, the internet is also remembering the venerable Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s other life’s work — as a mom. RIP RBG.

In other news, while we can all agree that COVID-shaming is not great, the Massachusetts parents who sent their COVID-positive teen to school this week are in another category. Interestingly, the school did not close in light of this revelation — but 30 people who had contact with the student were asked to quarantine for 14 days.

And a horde of anti-maskers stormed a Target in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, screaming, “Take off your masks” as they rampaged through the aisles. It sounds almost funny, but the video footage taken by a bystander is a little disturbing to watch.

In contrast, a valiant teen in Connecticut saved a mother and her three children from a burning car, showing that not everyone’s gone COVID-crazy.

Overheard on the Playground

“My success in law school, I have no doubt, was in large measure because of baby Jane. I attended classes and studied diligently until 4 in the afternoon; the next hours were Jane’s time, spent at the park, playing silly games or singing funny songs, reading picture books and A. A. Milne poems, and bathing and feeding her. After Jane’s bedtime, I returned to the law books with renewed will. Each part of my life provided respite from the other and gave me a sense of proportion that classmates trained only on law studies lacked.”

Ruth Bader Ginsburg
