Fresh, New Kids Listen Member Podcasts

By Meg Lewis

There are A LOT of wonderful kids’ podcasts out there…which is great, but also a little overwhelming. Luckily, Kids Listen and these delightfully engaging new kids’ shows have got you covered. Whether your child is interested in time travel, space exploration, world cultures, tips for getting along with friends, or just looking to flop down and listen to a good story, you’re sure to find something you can enjoy…together!

Storypillar (Ages 4–7) is a podcast for kids and their grownups. Together with Sneak (enthusiastic caterpillar), Bean (introverted butterfly), and Meg (human person), we’ll tackle the sticky situations kids face as they grow and change, explore stories from all over the world, and pick up advice from our listeners along the way. If you’re interested in using your imagination, learning about new places and perspectives, having a space to process big feelings, and/or laughing and being silly…Storypillar is for you! A great episode to start with is Carrots, Cushions, and Farts of Shame.

Robin’s Curious Travels (Age 9+) follows the time travel adventures of a curious young girl who uses a magic grandfather clock to visit pivotal moments in history. A great episode to start with is… The Trial of Susan B. Anthony — Asserting Women’s Right to Vote!! In this episode, Robin travels to 1872 where Ms. Anthony was arrested, tried, and found guilty of voting…simply because she was a woman!

BunnAmigos (Ages 4–10) is a podcast for kids and their adults who love to learn about the wonders of the world. Use your ears to travel the globe with Bun-Bun, Hopper, CT, and Buttons as they report on cities and cultures with fun-filled escapades! A great episode to start with is…BunnAmigos Visit Cairo, Egypt (Part 1)

Bearily Bear (Ages 3–7) understands how important it is for children to see themselves in stories. That’s why every Bearily Bear fairy tale features empowered princesses from diverse backgrounds that are more than capable of saving themselves should the need arise. Children will love the culturally diverse stories in Season 2, like Brown Rapunzel, Black Snow White, and Moroccan Cinderella. Featuring host Miral Sattar, Bearily Bear was selected by Common Sense Media as a best podcast of 2022. A great episode to start with is…The Lonely Ice Queen. The new queen has a terrible secret, one that keeps her entire kingdom covered in snow. Can she learn to tell others how she feels and what she needs before everything turns to ice?

And one more that’s not quite as new to the Kids Listen community, but definitely still worth a listen…

REACH: A Space Podcast for Kids (Age 8+) is a weekly, family-friendly exploration of our galaxy (and beyond!) with hosts Brian Holden and Meredith Stepien. Built for kids and based on questions from kids, REACH educates with entertaining segments, fun at-home experiments, and interviews with experts from leading institutions like the Adler Planetarium, Cosmosphere, and NASA. It also features celestial bodies voiced by none other than Sean Astin, Jack McBrayer, Kay Cannon, Rachel Dratch, Darren Criss, Lamorne Morris, and Tawny Newsome. A great episode to start with is…Inspiration in Space with Dr. Sian Proctor.
