CAIRO, Egypt. AMEINFO. September 3, 2012. (English). -Mr. Tarek Zidan, KidZania Egypt Governor, signed a partnership agreement with Ms. Thanaa Afifi, Group Marketing Director at GB Ghabbour Auto — Hyundai, the automotive assembler and distributer in Egypt and the Middle East.

Under the newly signed contract GB Ghabbour Auto — Hyundai will establish the first Kids Driving School in KidZania city offering children the most authentic driving experience including a complete training package, evaluation exam and a driving license, as well as a large fleet of electric kid-sized vehicles.

“Our partnership with the leading car maker GB Ghabbour Auto — Hyundai is definitely a significant addition to KidZaina Cairo,” said Tarek Zidan. “This first of its kind driving program will allow children to learn in an entertainment environment, the responsibilities of driving as well as road and traffic safety guidelines.”

He said, “We are all familiar with the appalling figures of death and injury due to road traffic accidents. Road Safety Education, through the use of driving simulators will provide the Egyptian children with the necessary knowledge and skills to deal with the hostile traffic environment.”

“This type of knowledge includes the understanding of road traffic rules, Signs and Road marking & signals, basic Driving skills, and responsible attitude to their own safety and to the safety of others. Children will be tested after completing their driving training and will receive a driving license which can be used in any KidZania facility worldwide. Furthermore, kids will learn the technical features of different GB Ghabbour Auto — Hyundai vehicles through sophisticated software in addition to personalizing the car model based on their very own creation,” he added.

Zidan highlighted, “By blending reality with entertainment, KidZania provides an authentic and powerful developmental experience, preparing kids to understand and manage their world through role-playing activities to provide the most contextual and engaging learning experience.”

“In line with this progressive concept, GB Ghabbour Auto — Hyundai Driving Program allows children to enjoy car driving while acquiring the driving know-how and skills to foster a next generation of responsible drivers who are passionate about road safety and therefore reducing the risks of road accidents,” he said.

“We are so proud to be part of this one of a kind innovative edutainment concept ushering a revolutionary approach of the edutainment industry in Egypt,” said Thanaa Afif, Group Marketing Director at GB Ghabbour Auto.

“Not only does the park introduce children to an unprecedented entertaining experience, but for the first time, integrates realistic empowerment for kids to unleash their innovative & creative abilities. Kids are given the opportunity to be car designers where they freely select and design their own car model using sophisticated software before painting a mini car model based on their very own creation,” she added.

KidZania provides children and their parents a safe, unique, and very realistic educational environment that allows kids between the ages of four to twelve to do what comes naturally to them: role-playing by mimicking traditionally adult activities. As in the real world, children perform “jobs” and are either paid for their work (as a fireman, doctor, police officer, journalist, shopkeeper, etc.) or pay to shop or to be entertained. The indoor theme park is a city built to scale for children, complete with buildings, paved streets, vehicles, a functioning economy, and recognizable destinations in the form of “establishments” sponsored and branded by leading multi-national and local brands.

KidZania is planned to open in Cairo around January, 2013, strategically located at New Cairo inside the biggest mall in Egypt, The city spanning over 8,600m2 of built-up area and two floors. When it opens, KidZania Cairo is expected to receive between 750,000 to 1 million visitors in its first year.

It is noteworthy that GB Auto first quarter revenues rose 31.9% and Net Profits rose 136%.
