KidZania Kuwait is Founded!

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait. KidZania Journal. June 16, 2013. (English). –Today, KidZania Kuwait was founded, becoming the 13th city of the edutainment nation. Mr. Mohammed Alshaya –Executive Chairman, M.H. Alshaya Co.– preceded the event at KidZania Kuwait in The Avenues mall. Among the guests of honor were His Excellency Nayef Al Hajraf, –Kuwait’s Minister of Education–, His Excellency Luis Alberto Barrero Stahl –Ambassador of Mexico to Kuwait–, Mr. Xavier López –CEO and founder of KidZania–, as well as industry partners’ representatives and members of KidZania Jeddah, KidZania Cairo, KidZania Istanbul, KidZania Seoul, KidZania Japan, KidZania Bangkok, KidZania Mumbai, KidZania Doha, KidZania Moscow, KidZania Dubai and the KidZania Central Government.

Mr. Mohammed Alshaya said: “Today is a very special day for me. It was back in early in 2010 that I first became aware of KidZania. As many of you know, I believe it is incredibly important that we inspire our young people to follow and develop their passions –to discover rewarding careers and bright futures. So when I first saw KidZania, I was determined to bring this incredible concept of ‘edutainment’ to Kuwait –an exciting mix of education and entertainment that I know people here will love”.

Mr. Xavier López said: “KidZania was very lucky to partner with M.H. Alshaya, the best group to bring our concept to Kuwait and find its location in The Avenues mall, the largest and finest shopping center in the country. I am sure that the grounds we have set, and will continue to build, will make KidZania Kuwait a reference not only for other KidZania metropolises, but for the edutainment industry in the world”.

Shortly after their intervention, ‘Keys to the City’ were given to the representatives of the 37 brands that participate in KidZania Kuwait, followed by the “Eternal Spirit Lighting Ceremony”, which officially marked the Founding of KidZania Kuwait, the 13th KidZania metropolis in the world and second in the Middle East.

KidZania Kuwait will open to the public on June 17.
