GHATKOPAR, India. Examiner. November 20, 2012. (English). -After dabbling in sports, Shahrukh Khan is ready to extend his corporate empire with his new venture, KidZania, launching today on Nov. 20, 2012.

In a tweet, King Khan shared with his fans,

“Goıng to launch my pet project…the KIDZANIA experıence…v dont say Hı…v say KAI!! Hope the kıds & parents bond closer when ıt opens.”

King Khan’s interest in the world of education- cum-entertainment space first surfaced in the summer of 2012, when he decided to bring the Mexico-based global edutainment brand KidZania to the country.

On his birthday, he shared his thoughts about his new venture in an exclusive interview with Indian Express.

The 47-year old noted,

“…my amusement park, KidZania will launch early next year in Ghatkopar. It’s a fun thing for kids. They can live a profession inside the park. They can be a surgeon, an architect, a fireman… and they get a passport and they earn KidZania money which can be redeemed at any other KidZania park in the world. Parents are strictly not allowed here and I’m really excited to see how the kids take to it. KidZania is being brought in the domestic market by ImagiNation Edutainment India, which is promoted by Khan, with 26 per cent interest, and KidZ Inc of Singapore, which holds the remaining 74 per cent.”

The plan is to build three KidZanias in the country; the first one will be launched in Ghatkopar suburbs of Mumbai in April.
