Pain and suffering
The Buddha appears to help us end suffering, not pain. Pain by itself is natural and necessary. Suffering is not. Like a roadblock, pain appears to steer us down a path that aligns with our individual destiny.
Fighting the pain in yourself causes suffering. Fighting the pain in others causes drama. The highest wisdom and deepest compassion is to let yourself and others feel pain. When it is truly felt, the solution will arise naturally.
To end suffering is to meet pain with gratitude. To be free is to live life with an open heart.
