Episode 4 — Pens & Pencils
Usually when I sit down to write an episode, I pull out my laptop. But, for this episode I decided to use a pen and paper. People have used a variety of writing instruments all throughout history. The structure is quite simple. Essentially, the ink is in a small tube, with a metal ball at the end. The ink is then dispensed on the ball, as it spins while you write.
In 2007, a 21 year old undergrad student, stopped by his girlfriends dorm room. He was drunk and hoping to get lucky. When she turned him down, things got ugly. He began to beat her. When that didn’t seem like enough, he reached to the nearest desk and grabbed a ball point pen. He then stabbed her over 90 times.
