Public Pressure Integrates KILT Identity Blockchain to Verify NFTs and Users on its Music Marketplace
AUSTIN, TEXAS, March 13, 2023 — Web3 media pioneer Public Pressure and KILT Protocol developer BOTLabs GmbH today announced at SXSW the use of KILT’s infrastructure for issuing public credentials to verify NFT collections, and logging into the Public Pressure Marketplace.
Public Pressure is a music platform powered by artists, labels and fans. They will issue “verified by Public Pressure” credentials to the music NFTs in their Marketplace collections. Artists or their record label can then add certificates of authenticity, and DJs can show publicly that a particular song is part of their playlist, building the identity of the asset. These new elements make counterfeit more difficult and potentially add value to the NFT.
Public Pressure will also enable users to log into their platform using email credentials verified by KILT’s SocialKYC service. These credentials remain under the control of the user on their device, and reduce the need for centralized data storage.
KILT is a decentralized parachain built on Polkadot that provides secure, practical identity solutions for enterprise and consumers. Using KILT’s AssetDID framework, which identifies multiple types of digital assets on any blockchain, Public Pressure users can link public credentials to any NFT on any smart contract. Anyone — artists, buyers and sellers — can read these public credentials, which are stored publicly on the KILT blockchain.
AssetDIDs work as a unique digital fingerprint and permanent identifier of the NFT. This means the credentials always stay with the NFT, even if ownership of the NFT changes.
“We are excited to see the first use case of AssetDIDs and public credentials by Public Pressure. The SXSW technology and music festival is the perfect setting to announce the next phase of NFT credentials,” said Ingo Rübe, CEO of BOTLabs GmbH and founder of KILT Protocol. “It’s great to see the pioneering work of Public Pressure adding extra utility and value to their music NFTs with public credentials built on KILT.”
“By partnering with KILT, we’re bringing an extra layer of transparency and protection against counterfeiting to music NFTs”, said Sergio Mottola, President of Public Pressure. “In addition, by integrating technology from other projects in the ecosystem, we’re also proving Polkadot is by far the best ecosystem in terms of interoperability. The success of this collaboration brings extra value to the end user.”

About Public Pressure
Public Pressure was originally launched in 2015 as an online community and magazine dedicated to giving a voice to emerging artists and labels.
Now a Web3 media company headquartered in London with offices around the world, Public Pressure focuses on the interactions between music, culture and technology. It powers a fair and equitable, direct-to-fan strategy for creators, minus the production and distribution costs incurred in existing Web2 environments.
Public Pressure is built on Polkadot, which has the lowest total electricity consumption and carbon emissions per year of the six proof-of-stake (POS) blockchains studied, and has been designed to support the transition of music to Web3.
