Join Kima: we’re hiring a Tech Associate

We’re looking to grow our team with two new Associates; a Tech Associate to help with working on the technology and tools we use to make and manage investments and a Deal Associate (see here) to help with making and managing investments. Based in Paris, or remote. We see these as 2 year roles which will prepare you for continuing working in venture capital or for founding a startup yourself.

You would be joining a small and entrepreneurial team working closely together in building new ways to scale venture capital and leverage the network of entrepreneurs and experts that we are building.

Your role

As an integral part of a small team, you will receive a high degree of autonomy and responsibility as you become involved in every aspect of investing in, and supporting, startups. While we expect the Tech Associate to also assist with sourcing and evaluating new investments, the role will predominantly involve working on the technology and tools that we use to help with making and managing investments.

Over the last 2 years we have started building internal tools that allow us to manage hundreds of inbound requests and collect data and information about many companies, countries & markets to find the best companies. It is the technology that allows us to increase our efficiency to scale our model and operations with a small team. Part of your mission will be to maintain, improve and create these tools, working at all the levels of the stack (architecture, sysadmin, backend, frontend, mobile app, browser widgets) on the following projects:

• proprietary CRM with custom integrations with API, email and data sources of all kinds;
• accounting and reporting tools;
• portfolio and community management tools;
• mobile applications (iOS);
• browser widgets (Chrome);
• data analytics tools.

Your competencies

We’d be happy to speak with anyone that has a passion for what we do regardless of background but we imagine the ideal candidate to have previous experience in software development, with an ability to develop creative solutions, interest in how software can be leveraged to increase the efficiency of a small team, who loves challenges and is willing to constantly learn and improve their skills.
