According to Twitter

Barcelona's Mobile World Congress is the world’s most important event for the mobile industry.

This is the time of the year that many people look forward to find out which phone they’re going to buy next.

Keep reading to find out the most popular devices of this year!

Day 0

Many brands were expected to renew their flagship lines during the exhibition.

After weeks of teasers, both LG and Samsung phones were announced on Sunday: their new flagship were absolutely the highlights of this day!

Samsung announced its new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge flagship: both phones sport bigger batteries, a whole new camera level, waterproofing, and an Always On display. These devices will be available in mid March.

LG took a complete different approach announcing the LG G5.
Beside the usual hardware upgrades and its Always On display, what really makes the G5 special is its module expansion platform:

A small button on the G5 side opens its lower section, revealing the battery and the module platform.

These modules, that LG calls affectionately “Friends” expand the phone functionality:

Oh, did we mention that the G5 also has two cameras on the back?

The LG G5 will hit the shelves in mid April.

Day 1

With the Korean giants out of the way, the first official day of the exhibition was took over by the Chinese brands Lenovo and Acer.

Acer expanded its successful Liquid line with three new phones: the Liquid Jade 2, Liquid Zest, and Liquid Zest 4G.

Acer Zest

The Jade 2 replaces its predecessor with a larger 5.5" screen, higher resolution, larger ram, and an outstanding 21 Mpx camera capable of 30fps 4K video.

The Liquid Zest come in a 4G and 3G versions. Beside other minor differences, both version have a 5" screen, an 8Mpx camera and come with a sub-$200 target price.

Acer devices are all “coming soon”.

After targeting the higher end at CES’s day 1, Lenovo gets even more love at the Mobile World Congress by adding four new budget notebooks to its Yoga line.

Lenovo Yoga 710

The new notebooks are named after their screen size: Yoga 710 11'’, Yoga 710 14'’, Yoga 510 14'’, and Yoga 510 15'’.

Like any other notebook in the Lenovo’s Yoga line, these devices can work easily switch between four modes: laptop, stand, tent, and tablet.

Beside these awesome modes, all of them promise 8+ hours of battery life, a minimum of 4GB of RAM, and better performances compared with their predecessors (the Yoga 700 and 500 lines).

The 510 line is expected to be launched in April while the Yoga 710 models are expected to launch in May.

Day 2

As every other year, we were expecting a new device from the Taiwanese HTC. This announcement came on Tuesday and, apparently, people were quite happy about it!

Over the past 6 years HTC launched over 40 (yes, forty) variations of the HTC Desire. At the Mobile World Congress it launched three new models: HTC Desire 530, Desire 630, Desire 825.

HTC Desire 630

The 530, the cheapest among all, features a 5" screen, Snapdragon processor, 2GB of ram, and an 8Mpx camera.

The 630 is identical to the 530, but it will come equipped with a better 13Mpx camera and it will be dual sim.

The higher end is covered with the 825: it comes with a bigger (5.5") screen, longer battery and a BoomSound stereo speaker with Dolby Audio enhancements.

All the new HTC devices are hitting the shelves by the end of February.

Day 3

Another company that has been teasing its fan base was the Chinese Xiaomi, of which last flagship was launched in 2014. Its new flagship announcement

Xiaomi is known to bring to the customers high-end smartphones with a middle-range price: this year is no exception with the announcement of the Xiaomi Mi 5.

The Mi 5 comes in 32, 64 and 128 GB variants while carrying the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of ram, 3'000mAh of battery and an quite good 16Mpx camera.

The price starts from $250 for the 32GB version and goes up to around $350 for the 128GB version. Too bad it’s availability is still limited to a handful of countries.
