Appetizer — Our story
We originally planned to go directly from Prague to Hallstatt. While the plan was good, the long travel time led us to decide to spend a day in Český Krumlov, which is relatively close to the Austria border.
Except for one day, the weather in Prague had been cloudy or rainy, so it was a bit disappointing to see it clear up as we left. However, it made me think that perhaps travel isn’t always as predictable as we’d like it to be. Rather than feeling excited about what unexpected variables might arise, I would feel a sense of one-sided amusement if everything went exactly as I wanted. But that would lack romance.
We always crave variables. Whether positive or negative, they allow us to gain more experience. The expansion of thought often occurs most vigorously in situations that arise unexpectedly.
